The Mill Street wellfield, originally developed in the 1930’s, is the primary source of drinking water for the residents of Hopedale, Massachusetts.  For much of the past 20 years, numerous attempts have been made to supplement this source by randomly drilling around the site, with very marginal success.

Mr. Newton approached the problem differently.  Utilizing a combination of a traditional resistivity with the less conventional induced polarization survey, Mr. Newton was able to discern the presence of a small glacial meltwash channel buried beneath 35 feet of silt and clay.

With the completion of two small wells within this channel, the yield from the Mill Street wellfield will increase by over 50%.
